Does Structural Lining Follow the House Structure?

Structural-Lining

Drain leaks, clogged drains, root intrusion, sewer backups, broken pipes and other plumbing problems can plague any home or business owner. However, repairs can be expensive and cause considerable inconvenience to property owners, due to the need to dig up the sewer line.

But what if there was a technology that allowed plumbing professionals to access pipes without having to dig large, messy holes? The advent of trenchless plumbing techniques has made this possible.

A Closer Look at Structural Pipe Lining

Nu Flow is a proprietary trenchless structural pipe lining technique that plumbers can use to repair damaged or outdated drains, vents and other non-pressurized pipe systems. This unique process uses existing access points, eliminating the need to damage property to make the repairs.

Trenchless structural pipe lining is appropriate for all types of structures, including:

  • Single-family homes and multi-tenant buildings
  • Hospitals
  • Historic buildings
  • Schools
  • Multi-story office buildings
  • Commercial properties

The Structural Pipe Lining Process

Over years of use, debris such as cooking oil, soap scum, hair and mineral deposits clog up sewer and drain lines, which greatly reduces the internal diameter and impedes even water flow. The first step in a trenchless sewer line repair is typically a thorough sewer drain cleaning, which scours all the buildup from pipes and restores them to their original diameter.

A video camera inspection may also come into play, either before or after the drain cleaning, to assess damage and identify the precise location of any leaks, cracks or corrosion.

Then, the plumber will insert an epoxy-saturated liner into the damaged pipe, and pull it into place. Once the liner is perfectly positioned, the plumber will inflate it until the epoxy liner is pressed against the interior walls of the original pipe. When left to dry, the epoxy hardens in place, curing within a few hours into a new, seamless pipe within the original pipe.

Nu Flow’s patented pull-in-place system is the most advanced piping repair solution on the market. Both strong and durable, epoxy pipe lining is a long-term solution for leaks and breaks, blockages, root intrusion, calcium buildup, water damage, mold and sewer backups. The process creates a new pipe that is both durable and damage-resistant, with an improved flow capacity.
